National soccer player Hwang Ui-jo (31) is facing allegations of illegal filming, and the victim has directly revealed communications with Hwang Ui-jo, pleading for the 'secondary harm to stop.'
On the 23rd, Eun-ui Lee, the legal representative of the victim in the illegal filming allegation against soccer national team player Hwang Ui-jo, held a press conference at an office located in Seocho-gu, Seoul, to refute Hwang Ui-jo's side's statement and disclosed messenger conversations between Hwang Ui-jo and the victim.

On the 23rd, Lee Eun-ui, the legal representative of victim A, held a briefing at an office in Seocho-gu and stated, "Mr. Hwang himself admits to the clear 'illegal filming' and is committing 'secondary harm' by threatening the vulnerable victim and manipulating her according to his own interests."
Attorney Lee disclosed some messenger and call records exchanged between Mr. Hwang and Ms. A. According to the conversation, Ms. A asked, "I clearly said no, so why didn’t you stop?" and Mr. Hwang apologized, saying, "I didn’t expect it to turn out like this."
Ms. A said, "You must also admit to the illegal filming. If this is resolved well, I will not take further action." During the approximately 20-minute call, Mr. Hwang continuously apologized to Ms. A.

Then, suddenly two hours later, he said, "It wasn’t illegal filming, but due to my carelessness, the video was distributed," and added, "We need to catch the distributor first. My lawyer will help, so don’t worry and please assist with the lawsuit."
In response, Ms. A pleaded, "I just want to be forgotten. Please make this quiet."
Attorney Lee criticized, "The victim clearly did not consent to filming, and upon learning of it, requested deletion, but the filming continued," and added, "Mr. Hwang’s legal team is inducing secondary harm by including specific expressions that could identify victim A’s personal information."
He also criticized the Korea Football Association and others who allowed Mr. Hwang to participate, saying, "Being good at football alone does not make one a national representative, so please refrain from making secondary harmful remarks," urging the association to respond appropriately.
Mr. Hwang was investigated for illegal filming and played in the World Cup Asian second qualifying match against China on the 21st, three days after the investigation. Coach Klinsmann said the day before that "no charges have been confirmed or proven yet," leaving open the possibility of future call-ups.
The Distributor of Hwang Ui-jo’s Video is His 'Brother-in-law'... Currently Denying Charges
Earlier in June, someone claiming to be Mr. Hwang’s ex-girlfriend spread videos of Mr. Hwang and women in sexual acts on social media (SNS), alleging that Hwang Ui-jo was seeing multiple women.
The distributor was revealed to be Hwang Ui-jo’s brother-in-law. He currently denies all charges, claiming "I was hacked," but the police are investigating with the view that hacking is unlikely.
Hwang Ui-jo’s legal representative, law firm Daehwan, stated on the 22nd, "The other woman was aware of the filming and engaged in the relationship afterward," and questioned, "Whether repeated filming and deletion under mutual consent can be considered so-called 'hidden camera' is doubtful."
They added, "The other woman is a public figure active in broadcasting and is married," and said, "Reports that treat Hwang Ui-jo’s crime as a foregone conclusion and mislead as if the woman’s one-sided position is the truth have spread, so we have come forward defensively to clarify."
However, after the statement was released, there were criticisms that Hwang Ui-jo’s side partially disclosed the other woman’s personal information, potentially causing secondary harm. It was argued that revealing her occupation and marital status was unnecessary.
