SK Group affiliates, including SK Hynix, are partnering with Korea University to operate a global scholarship program aimed at nurturing master's degree students from Eastern Europe as talents in advanced fields.
SK Hynix, SK Telecom, SK Broadband, SK㈜ C&C, and Korea University signed an agreement on the operation of the 'SK Global Scholarship Program' at the first conference room of Korea University Main Building on the 23rd.

View original imageSK and Korea University will provide opportunities for students from Eastern European countries such as Romania and Georgia to receive education in advanced fields through Korea University's general graduate school master's program.
Starting from September next year and for four years, Korea University plans to offer educational opportunities in semiconductor, IT, and artificial intelligence (AI) fields to 20 students from Eastern European countries admitted annually to the general graduate school master's program.
SK will support the selected students by covering the full tuition fees for four semesters, including a 4-week Korean language training cost and admission fees. To ensure stable academic progress, SK will also sponsor round-trip airfare and monthly living expenses.
Shin Sang-kyu, Vice President of SK Hynix (in charge of corporate culture), said, "We are pleased to provide high-quality education related to semiconductors and AI in Korea, which is highly regarded in the global market, to students from Eastern Europe who have a strong interest in advanced industries." He added, "Based on this cooperation, SK will strive to contribute to nurturing outstanding global talents."

Yu Hyuk, Vice President for Research at Korea University, stated, "Providing master's degree education opportunities in advanced fields to students from Eastern European countries, which have had limited exchanges with Korea, will enhance the status of the Republic of Korea." He added, "Besides student exchanges with Eastern Europe, this will be a great opportunity to increase research cooperation."
