Police Officer Who Assaulted Officer Dispatched After Drunkenness Report Placed on Administrative Leave
A man in his 50s who assaulted a police officer dispatched in response to a drunkenness report was confirmed to be an active police sergeant and has been placed on administrative leave.
According to the police on the 22nd, the Yeongdeungpo Police Station in Seoul placed Sergeant A, who belongs to a local police unit, on administrative leave on the 20th.
The Yangcheon Police Station arrested Sergeant A on the spot on the 19th at around 1:20 a.m. on charges of obstructing official duties after he assaulted a police officer dispatched to a street in Yangcheon-gu. Sergeant A has since been released.
