KOTRA and Seoul Military Diplomacy Association Hold 'Defense Industry Export Networking'
Invitation of 32 Military Attach?s from 24 Countries Including Poland and Saudi Arabia to Korea
KOTRA jointly held the '2023 Defense Export Networking Event Inviting Military Attach?s in Korea' with the Seoul Association of Military Attach?s (SAMA) on the 22nd at the Westin Chosun Hotel in Seoul. Thirty-two military attach?s from 24 countries, including Poland and Saudi Arabia, and executives and employees from over 30 Korean defense companies attended the event.
At the event, seminars on artificial intelligence (AI) technology, anti-drone systems, and manned-unmanned complex systems were held to showcase Korea's latest defense technologies to foreign military attach?s.

Shamimul Islam, Commander (Brigadier General) of the Bangladesh Air Force, who is the head of SAMA and the Foreign Military Attach? Corps (FMAC), said, "The Korean defense industry, which has gained attention through exports of the FA-50 fighter jet, K9 self-propelled howitzer, and K2 tank, has many companies of various sizes that can collaborate in the fields of drones, anti-drone, AI, and robotics." He added, "The Seoul Association of Military Attach?s expects to promote various defense cooperation projects with KOTRA and related organizations."

Kim Ho-sung, Director of the Defense Materials Trade Support Center at KOTRA, stated, "Korea has grown its 'K-Defense' through continuous technological innovation based on manufacturing competitiveness in steel, machinery, electrical and electronics, and semiconductors." He added, "We hope that the networking events will continue to be held so that exchanges and cooperation between military attach?s in Korea and Korean companies will be sustained."
