Samsung Electronics' Brand Value Grows 4% Year-on-Year to $91.4 Billion
On the 21st (local time), U.S. brand consulting firm Interbrand announced the 'Best Global Brands 100'. In this evaluation, Samsung Electronics' brand value recorded $91.4 billion, a 4% increase from last year. The brand ranking has been 5th in the world for four consecutive years since 2020.
Despite the unfavorable conditions in the global IT industry, Samsung Electronics increased its brand value across all business sectors including mobile phones, TVs, home appliances, networks, and semiconductors. The brand ranking has steadily risen since first entering the top 10 at 9th place in 2012. It has been the only non-U.S. company to secure a position among the global top 5 brands since 2020.
Interbrand annually announces brand values by comprehensively analyzing ▲corporate financial performance ▲the impact of the brand on customer product purchases ▲brand competitiveness (strategy, empathy, differentiation, customer engagement, consistency, trust). It is the longest-standing and most credible brand valuation method worldwide.
Interbrand positively evaluated Samsung Electronics' 'One Samsung' based customer experience enhancement strategy. It praised the ability to provide 'SmartThings' connectivity and gaming experiences through various product portfolios, as well as leadership in future technologies such as 6th generation mobile communication (6G), artificial intelligence (AI), and automotive electronics. It also gave credit for strengthening ESG leadership.
Lee Young-hee, President of Samsung Electronics' Global Marketing Office, said, "The continuous growth of Samsung Electronics' brand value despite challenging business conditions is thanks to the support of customers worldwide. Going forward, we will become a brand loved by customers through differentiated connected experiences, future technology leadership, and various activities that enhance sustainability."
Strengthening Open Partnerships... Using Recycled Materials for ESG Management
Samsung Electronics operates the 'D2C Center' under the Global Marketing Office to provide integrated online and offline experiences, and the 'CX-MDE Center' responsible for enhancing multi-device connectivity experiences, increasing synergy among products and delivering a higher level of experience to customers.
Additionally, based on 'SmartThings' which provides integrated connected experiences, Samsung is strengthening open partnerships that enable connection not only with its own products but also with various external devices. Through partnerships with major companies across diverse product lines such as mobile, TV, PC, and monitors, it strives to provide optimized gaming experiences to customers.
Investments to lead future technologies such as 5th generation mobile communication (5G), 6G, AI, and automotive electronics are ongoing. In the semiconductor sector, innovation continues with mass production of industry-leading 12-nanometer class DRAM, and active responses to promising industries like AI and automotive.
