The "Bbangbbanghan Jeju Bat Han-kki Project" is part of the "Jeju Bat Han-kki 2023 Campaign." It was planned with the hope that the value and charm of field crops, fresh and delicious crops grown in Jeju, would permeate more people’s daily lives through breads and desserts developed with each bakery’s unique character.
Earlier, on the 19th, the promotion team held a special event called the "Bbangbbanghan Jeju Bat Han-kki Mirage Bakery" pop-up at the Dol Dam Sky Park of Hana Bank Jeju Financial Center Branch for one day only, where all breads developed using Jeju field crops could be tasted. At the Mirage Bakery, a busking performance was held alongside tastings of breads made from field crops. From meal breads that preserved the shape, texture, and savory taste of Jeju buckwheat to breads transformed from various field crops such as Jeju native green beans called Doksakikong, Chodang corn, broccoli, and barley, the event drew great enthusiasm from participants.
Additionally, bakers and patissiers from each bakery shared stories of about three months of development and held a mini talk concert where participants could ask questions. The event, held in two sessions, was attended by over 150 bread enthusiasts from across the country through prior registration.
The breads unveiled at Mirage Bakery have been on sale since the 20th at five bakery stores: Ganeungot Sehwa, Bbanggut, Asara Bakery, Hotel Sand, and ABC A Factory Bakery. At Ganeungot Sehwa, you can find Jeju Green Bean Sourdough; at Bbanggut, Buckwheat Brot and Bracken Butter; at Asara Bakery, Jeju Broccoli Focaccia; at Hotel Sand, Barley Biscuit Choux; and at ABC A Factory Bakery, Buckwheat Square Bread and Caramel (ginger, Udo peanuts), among about 20 different types of breads.
To celebrate the opening of Bbangbbanghan Jeju Bat Han-kki, the promotion team will also hold events at each store. Visitors who take photos of the Bbangbbanghan Jeju Bat Han-kki bakery or event zone at the store and upload them to their personal SNS tagging the Jeju Bat Han-kki account will receive the developed bakery products for free on the spot.

Lee Jae-geun, head of the promotion team, said, “Thanks to the active participation of local bakeries who sympathized with the purpose of promoting the value and charm of Jeju field crops, it is gratifying that breads containing Jeju field crops can be tasted at bakeries throughout Jeju City. Through this project, we hope to share the utilization value of Jeju field crops with more people and breathe new vitality into Jeju City’s rural areas.”
