"82.9% in HBM-Related Key Semiconductor Equipment Stocks"
Samsung Asset Management announced on the 21st that it will list the 'KODEX AI Semiconductor Core Equipment' exchange-traded fund (ETF), which invests in domestic semiconductor equipment companies related to the artificial intelligence (AI) semiconductor industry.
According to Samsung Asset Management on the day, the KODEX AI Semiconductor Core Equipment ETF holds about 83% of equipment stocks related to HBM (High Bandwidth Memory), making it the largest proportion among domestic semiconductor materials, parts, and equipment ETFs.
The semiconductor industry is expected to grow centered on high-performance and high-efficiency 'AI semiconductors' that rapidly process large amounts of data. Big tech companies such as Google are also rapidly increasing investments related to AI servers. The global AI semiconductor market is expected to grow to $86.1 billion (approximately KRW 110.845 trillion) by 2026.
AI semiconductors require HBM, which can implement high memory bandwidth. In particular, the Korean semiconductor industry has a strength in 'semiconductor equipment.' Semiconductor equipment is directly affected by new order cycles. Compared to materials and parts, its market capitalization has risen significantly, strongly leading the market.
The KODEX AI Semiconductor Core Equipment ETF holds about 83% of semiconductor equipment stocks related to HBM. As of the 14th, its major holdings include leading domestic semiconductor equipment companies such as ▶Hanmi Semiconductor (24.6%) ▶ISC (16.7%) ▶Rino Industrial (11.0%) ▶Daeduck Electronics (9.3%) ▶Hana Micron (8.2%).
