Yoon Arrives in London, Begins 4-Day State Visit Schedule
Attended a Meeting with Korean Residents as the First Schedule
Attended Official Welcome Ceremony and Delivered Speech at the Assembly the Next Day
President Yoon Suk-yeol arrived in London, United Kingdom, on the 20th (local time) to begin a 3-night, 4-day state visit.
President Yoon and First Lady Kim Keon-hee arrived at Stansted Airport in London aboard Air Force One, the presidential aircraft, in the afternoon.
At the airport, Vincent Thompson, Earl of Hood (Chief Royal Protocol Officer) and Deputy Lieutenant of the Essex region representing the King, David Peary, Special Representative of the Foreign Secretary, Jonathan Fowler, Stansted Airport Director, and Ben-Julian Harrington, Chief Constable of Essex Police, were present. On the Korean side, Ambassador Yoon Yeo-cheol to the UK, Kim Sook-hee, President of the Korean Association, Son Byung-kwon, Chairman of the UK branch of the National Unification Advisory Council, and Park Myung-eun, Chairman of the Korean Business Association in the UK, were in attendance.
President Yoon wore a black suit with a tie, and First Lady Kim was dressed in a white jacket with black pants and carried a black handbag. The presidential couple exchanged handshakes and greetings with the welcoming officials before boarding a vehicle prepared by the UK.
As the first state guest invited by King Charles III, who held his coronation last May, President Yoon will begin his first schedule with a meeting with the Korean community in the afternoon.
On the following day, the 21st, an official royal welcome ceremony will be held. Prince William and his wife will visit President Yoon’s residence and escort the presidential couple to the official welcome ceremony venue at Horse Guards Parade. Forty-one gun salutes will be fired, and the royal guards will be reviewed.
Afterward, President Yoon will travel with King Charles III by carriage to Buckingham Palace for lunch and dinner. On this day, President Yoon is also scheduled to deliver an English speech at the UK Parliament reflecting on the bilateral relationship and growth process, and emphasizing the strengthening of future cooperation.
On the 22nd, President Yoon will hold a Korea-UK summit with Prime Minister Rishi Sunak at 10 Downing Street, the Prime Minister’s residence, to discuss cooperation in advanced industries such as semiconductors, artificial intelligence (AI), space, bio, and clean energy. He will also attend the Korea-UK Business Forum, the Korea-UK Chief Scientists Science and Technology Future Forum, and a dinner hosted by the Mayor of the London Financial District, carrying out economic diplomacy schedules.

On the final day of the state visit, the 23rd, President Yoon will visit the "Churchill War Rooms," bid farewell to King Charles III, and depart for Paris, France, to engage in the final phase of the bid for the 2030 Busan World Expo.
