The Buyback Service allows customers to resell luxury goods purchased at Hyundai Department Store as secondhand items through Gugus and receive payment in cash and H.Points. The service covers about 40 brands eligible for Hyundai Department Store luxury mileage accumulation. Gugus stated that reflecting the consumer trend toward value consumption, they launched the Buyback Service with Hyundai Department Store to make luxury goods transactions easier. Customers using Hyundai Department Store can save time without having to find separate consignment vendors through the Gugus Buyback Service and can conduct transactions guaranteed for safety and reliability.
The Buyback Service process consists of five steps. Customers fill out an application form specifying the brand and product name they wish to sell. Products can be delivered by visiting a nearby Gugus store nationwide or sent via courier or quick service. Shipping costs are covered by Gugus.
The collected products are appraised through Gugus's in-house appraiser system, and customers can receive a sales price offer after sufficient consultation over the phone. If the customer decides to sell, they access the purchase approval URL sent via LMS, confirm the deposit amount, and proceed. If the customer does not wish to sell, they can request the return of the product via courier or quick service.
