The Korea Paralympic Committee Southern Marine Training Center is planned to be established in Samsan-ri, Gwansan-eup, Jangheung, as a training center for disabled marine sports.
The project, with a total budget of 40 billion KRW, plans to build a comprehensive maritime training facility for sports such as rowing, canoeing, triathlon, and water marathon.
Jangheung-gun cited its mild year-round climate, the expansion of sports education infrastructure due to the establishment of the Sports Talent Development Institute, and the clean southern coast of the South Sea as advantages for establishing the training center.
The Cheongwansan Mountain Climbing School is an institution specializing in mountain climbing and trekking education.
Jangheung-gun plans to invest 8 billion KRW to build facilities such as sports climbing walls, lecture rooms, and dormitories, aiming to lead a healthy and safe mountain climbing culture.
Cheongwansan is evaluated to have excellent conditions for the mountain climbing school location, as it has a large-scale national forest under the jurisdiction of the Korea Forest Service and is suitable for tourism linked to the southern provinces.
The Honam Regional Forest Bio Processing Support Complex is a 20 billion KRW project supporting the linkage of income between natural substances derived from forests, bio-industries, and forest households.
