Gumi Eco Land Launches Thrilling 'Zip Coaster'
Free Trial from 21st to Year-End, Paid Service Starting Next Year
Gumi City in Gyeongbuk will conduct a free pilot operation of the 400m-long Eco Land Zip Coaster, constructed with a total project cost of 2 billion KRW, from the 21st until the end of the year.
The zip coaster is a forest leisure facility that combines a single-line transportation system and a roller coaster, allowing non-powered free-fall movement in all directions?up, down, left, and right?through the use of terrain slopes and track bends within the forest.
It operates from Tuesday to Sunday (10:00 AM to 4:30 PM), with an experience time of about 2 minutes. Applications for the experience can be made on-site on a first-come, first-served basis at the Forest Culture Center on the first floor within Gumi Eco Land. The facility is available for users aged 11 to 64 years old (height 140?190 cm, weight 45?100 kg).
After the pilot operation ends, normal operation will begin in 2024, with fees set at 10,000 KRW for adults and 8,000 KRW for youths. Gumi citizens presenting identification documents will receive a 50% discount, while families with multiple children in Gumi, basic livelihood security recipients, and national veterans will receive a 60% discount, allowing them to experience the latest trend in forest leisure facilities at an affordable price.
