Yongin City to Host 'Salon' with Mayor, Police Chief, and Fire Chief
Discussion on Disaster and Crime Prevention... Monthly Regular Meeting
Yongin City in Gyeonggi Province will hold regular meetings attended by the mayor, police chiefs, and fire chief.
On the 20th, Yongin City announced that starting next month, on the first Thursday of every month, it will hold a regular meeting called the 'Safety Culture Salon' with four heads of safety-related organizations: the mayor, the chiefs of Yongin East and West Police Stations, and the Yongin Fire Station chief. The city explained that this meeting is intended as an opportunity for the heads of these organizations to meet regularly and discuss citizen safety issues such as disaster and crime prevention in an informal setting.
The meetings will be held in rotation at each organization. The purpose is for the heads to encourage frontline workers and listen to and address difficulties faced on the ground. The first meeting is scheduled to take place on the 7th of next month in the reception room of Yongin City Hall. Mayor Lee Sang-il plans to hear opinions from each organization regarding the 'Yongin Citizen Safety Insurance,' which is planned to be introduced next year.
This regular meeting was initiated following a meeting at the end of last month between Mayor Lee, Hong Gi-hyun, Chief of the Gyeonggi Southern Police Agency, Kim Kyung-jin, Chief of Yongin East Police Station, and Lee Jong-gil, Chief of Yongin West Police Station. The heads of the organizations responsible for the safety of Yongin citizens shared the idea of establishing a system for regular communication, dialogue, and cooperation.
