All Members of the Biomedical Engineering Unit at Bucheon Seongmo Hospital Obtain International Biomedical Engineer Certification
Catholic University Bucheon St. Mary's Hospital announced on the 20th that all members of the Purchasing Management Team's Biomedical Engineering Unit have obtained the international biomedical equipment technician certification (CBET).
The international biomedical equipment technician certification (Certification Biomedical Equipment Technician, CBET), administered by the American AAMI (Association for the Advancement of Medical Instrumentation), is a globally recognized qualification that certifies hospital medical device experts. Unlike the domestic biomedical engineering (BME) certification, this qualification requires at least two years of practical experience to be eligible to take the exam. It is a professional practical skills-based qualification exam covering anatomy and physiology, medical regulations, electrical and electronics, medical IT, medical device usage, and medical device troubleshooting for medical devices used in hospitals such as research and measuring instruments and radiological equipment, resulting in a low pass rate.
Bucheon St. Mary's Hospital now possesses experts who meet global certification standards in terms of safety and technical aspects of medical device usage, with all members of the Biomedical Engineering Unit?UM Seo Jeong-chung, Senior Park Sang-jun, Senior Lee Seon-yeon, and Staff Kim Seong-hyun?passing the exam.
