This technology is significant in that it reduces the analysis time of a patient’s NK cell count and single NK cell activity from the conventional minimum of 24 hours to within 2 hours.
It provides medical professionals with comprehensive information on NK cells involved in the destruction of cancer cells or infected cells quickly, serving as a basis to assist in disease diagnosis and prognosis monitoring of pathological conditions.
Above all, ‘CellyticsTM NK’ offers the advantage of confirming immune function with only a small blood sample, unlike the conventional testing methods that were limited to expensive, large, and specialized analytical devices.
The simple NK cell isolation and analysis method allows testing to be conducted without skilled personnel, suggesting the potential for ‘CellyticsTM NK’ to replace the existing personal immune function diagnostic market in the future.
Furthermore, MetaImmunTech plans to advance ‘CellyticsTM NK’ into a comprehensive immune function monitoring platform capable of verifying the count and activity of various immune cells at the single-cell level.
Through this, MetaImmunTech aims to present a new paradigm in personal immune function diagnostics, including monitoring cancer treatment progress, rapid immune function monitoring, infectious disease prediction, and verifying individual effects of drugs or health supplements.
Hyunsik Jeon, CEO of MetaImmunTech, stated, “MetaImmunTech plans to provide new immune function diagnostic services to professional testing institutions and medical institutions within this year through the commercialization of the rapid immune function diagnostic platform. In the future, we will additionally develop a ‘self-diagnostic platform’ that allows individuals to measure immune function directly with just one or two drops of blood, contributing to public health.”
Meanwhile, the ‘CES Innovation Award’ was established in 1976 by the Consumer Technology Association (CTA) of the United States and is awarded to outstanding products and services showcasing innovative technology ahead of the world’s largest IT and electronics exhibition, the ‘CES Show’.
