Professor Son Yunseok of Pukyong National University Awarded Excellent Paper Award by the Korean Society for Atmospheric Environment
Professor Son Yoon-seok of the National Pukyong National University was selected as the recipient of the 2023 Excellent Paper Award by the Korean Society for Atmospheric Environment.
He received the Excellent Paper Award in recognition of his research achievements presented in the paper titled "Particulate Matter and Influencing Factors in Domestic Elementary Schools."
The Korean Society for Atmospheric Environment annually awards the Excellent Paper Award to the author who has published the most outstanding paper in the Journal of the Korean Society for Atmospheric Environment over the past three years.
Professor Son is advancing control technologies for odorous substances, greenhouse gases, and NOx/SO2 using electron beams, and is conducting research on various technologies to reduce and remove these pollutants based on indoor air quality measurement and analysis in educational facilities and subways.

He is also actively engaged in research to identify the emission characteristics and human health hazards of harmful substances emitted from electronic cigarettes, evaluate naturally occurring air pollutants such as BVOCs from tree species planted in urban areas, and develop comprehensive measures to manage them.
