The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism appointed Professor Kim Seongheon of Dankook University's Department of English and American Humanities as the director of the National Museum of World Writing Systems on the 17th. The term is three years.

Director Kim is an expert who has long studied linguistics and philosophy of language. He holds a Ph.D. in linguistics from Hankuk University of Foreign Studies and completed a postdoctoral program in philosophy of language at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). He is actively involved as a board member of the Korean Society of Modern Linguistics, among other roles. Minister Yoo Inchon of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism said, "I hope the Museum of Writing Systems will transform the region and collaborate diversely with world writing system museums with the appointment of the new director." The Museum of Writing Systems was established in June at 217 Central-ro, Yeonsu-gu, Incheon to promote understanding and exchange of various cultures through writing systems.
