Gochang-gun Conducts Farming and Rural Settlement Education for Retiring Public Officials
Gochang-gun, Jeollabuk-do announced on the 17th that it conducted a customized field education program called ‘Exploring On-Site Farming and Rural Migration’ for 30 public officials scheduled to retire the previous day.
The program, hosted by the Agricultural and Food Public Officials Training Institute located in Naju-si, Jeollanam-do, was designed to help retiring public officials settle stably by migrating to farming and rural areas.

They visited the Gochang-gun Residential Agricultural Startup Support Center to receive explanations on farming and rural migration policies and toured the facilities of the residential center.
Next, they toured and experienced exemplary farming and rural migration cases in Gochang-gun, introducing the region known for its pristine nature and supporting participants to experience agriculture and rural life in advance.
Through this education, information was provided to retiring public officials to help them plan their second life, and it is expected that the influx of population through the activation of farming and rural migration will revitalize agriculture and rural communities.
In particular, the farming and rural migration education for retiring public officials hosted by the Agricultural and Food Public Officials Training Institute was held three times this year in Gochang-gun.
Kim Su-il, Director of the Agricultural and Food Training Institute, said, “Visiting the Residential Agricultural Startup Support Center in Gochang-gun, known as the number one place for farming and rural migration, and hearing about the facility status and introduction, I understand the enthusiastic response from the trainees who visited here,” adding, “Gochang-gun lives up to its reputation as the number one place for farming and rural migration.”
Hyun Haeng-yeol, Director of the County Agricultural Technology Center, said, “We will do our best to support prospective farming and rural migrants approaching retirement so that they can successfully plan their lives in Gochang.”
