Dongshin University to Host 'Dongshin Expo' from 23rd, Offering Experience of Future New Technologies
Dongshin University will hold the 'Dongshin Expo,' where visitors can experience and enjoy future promising technologies and new technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI) and renewable energy.
On the 16th, Dongshin University announced that it will hold the '2023 Dongshin Expo Dream Festival' for two days on the 23rd and 24th at the Dongshin University Innovation Convergence Campus in Bitgaram-dong, Naju-si, Jeollanam-do.
On the first floor, there will be an experience center for future new industries including smart mobility, augmented reality (AR)/virtual reality (VR), artificial intelligence (AI), renewable energy, 3D printing and coding, drone simulation, and immersive media.
At booths operated by Dongshin University departments, visitors can experience correct posture training, eye movement analysis, mental health counseling, fingerprint aptitude tests, health experiences, and traditional overseas costume experiences.
Additionally, there will be an exhibition of capstone design achievements by Dongshin University students, an item exhibition by startup clubs, and competitions using e-sports and robot coding with citizen participation.
The second floor will host various employment support booths and a corporate pavilion.
The employment support program promotion booths include Dongshin University’s University Job Plus Center, IPP Project Group, Naju Employment Center, and Naju City Job Support Center. There will also be a mentor pavilion featuring seniors from highly preferred public institutions, banks, and large corporations, a recruitment pavilion conducting company presentations and on-site interviews simultaneously, and an event pavilion offering free employment photo shoots and personal color image making.
At the corporate pavilion, visitors can see new technologies and new products created through collaboration between the university, local governments, and family companies at a glance.
In addition, for local residents, there will be booths for ▲occupational therapy ▲speech therapy ▲play therapy ▲basic physical fitness measurement ▲traditional Korean medicine health counseling, along with special lectures for residents on topics such as 'Our Children Learning the World Through Senses' and 'Parents' MBTI Types and Child Education,' and congratulatory performances by students from Dongshin University’s Musical and Practical Music departments.
A session to share achievements in regionally specialized industrial fields and explore future development plans will also be held.
On the 23rd, the 'Carbon Neutral Daesil Self-Reliant Village Experience Center Opening Ceremony' will be held at Mimireak in Daesil Village, Bonghwang-myeon, Naju-si, Jeollanam-do. To lead the era of carbon neutrality and energy transition, Dongshin University, Naju City, and local energy companies will unveil the Naju-type energy prosumer sharing economy village living lab, which they have jointly established. Achievements such as rural-type E-mobility using renewable energy, solar and hybrid wind power generators, and battery sharing systems will be shared with local residents.
On the same day, Dongshin University and Naju City will sign a memorandum of understanding with the Vietnam-Korea Business Investment Association (VKBIA) and plan to promote the establishment of Naju-type energy prosumer self-reliant villages in major Vietnamese tourist destinations such as Da Nang and Da Lat. Through this, it is expected that local companies that developed the battery sharing system and rural E-mobility will achieve success in overseas expansion.
On the 24th, experts in the regional bio-industry field will gather for a symposium to exchange various ideas for creating a 'Regional Industry-Academia Cooperation Growth Innovation Bio Cluster.' Dongshin University will also conduct technology and management consulting programs to support sharing and utilizing intellectual property rights owned by the university with family companies and local businesses.

A Dongshin University official said, "This event will be an opportunity to share the achievements of various national support projects carried out by our university with local residents and to lay the foundation for the university and the region to grow together." He added, "We will continue to fulfill our responsibilities as a sharing university that coexists with the region and become a university loved by local residents."
