Naktonggang Chilseo Point Algae Warning 'Lifted'
35 Days After Issuance of 'Interest' Stage
The Nakdong River Basin Environmental Office announced that as of 3 PM on the 16th, the algae warning issued at the Chilseo point of the Nakdong River will be lifted.
The algae warning at the Chilseo point was issued at the 'Attention' level on October 12. Recent algae measurements were below the issuance criteria (less than 1000 cells/ml) for two consecutive tests, leading to the lifting of the algae warning 35 days after the 'Attention' level was issued.
This lifting of the algae warning is analyzed to be due to a decrease in the number of harmful cyanobacteria caused by the drop in water temperature during the winter season.
