App Award Korea is an annual awards ceremony that selects apps with excellent technology and distinctiveness through consumer preference surveys and expert evaluations in various categories for applications released in Korea. Sponsored by the Ministry of Science and ICT, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, and others, it began in 2011 and is now in its 16th year.
Cheotjang, which won the App of the Year award in the 'Comprehensive Funeral Platform' category, is a service commercialized from the idea 'Itda,' which won first place in Kyowon Group's in-house venture fostering project 'Deep Change Idea Prize 2nd term.' It integrates information on funeral halls and various funeral-related services, which previously had to be checked individually, into a single platform so that anyone can easily prepare for complicated funerals with just one app.
Cheotjang has digitized various information such as the locations, prices, and facilities of over 1,000 funeral halls and more than 100 burial sites nationwide, allowing users to easily search and compare them. Information on funeral procedures and necessary documents is available free of charge. When using funeral or burial site services through Cheotjang, users receive free '24/7 deceased transportation' and 'professional burial site consulting' services. Additional services include an online memorial hall to share memories with the deceased, online obituary notices, and orders for condolence wreaths.
