694 Additional Jeonse Fraud Victims Recognized... Total Now 8,284
The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport announced on the 16th that at the 13th plenary meeting of the Jeonse Fraud Victim Support Committee held on the 15th, 895 cases were reviewed, and a total of 694 cases were finally approved as victims of Jeonse fraud.
Specifically, 694 cases were approved, 98 cases were rejected, 32 appeals were dismissed, and 71 cases were excluded from application. Cases where the full deposit refund was possible through guarantee insurance and priority repayment were excluded from the application requirements, and cases that did not meet the requirements were rejected.
Among the submitted agenda items, there were a total of 63 appeals, of which 31 cases were re-approved as victims of Jeonse fraud after additional verification of eligibility. A total of 564 appeals have been received so far, of which 246 were accepted and 276 were dismissed. The remaining 42 cases are under review.
The committee has so far made final decisions recognizing a total of 8,284 cases as victims of Jeonse fraud. The number of approved requests for urgent suspension of light and public auctions is 733 cases.
Tenants who have received a notice of non-recognition or have been determined as victims of Jeonse fraud can file an appeal, and even if the appeal is dismissed, they can seek relief through reapplication if circumstances change in the future.

Those who are determined as victims through the committee’s resolution can receive guidance on support measures through the Korea Housing & Urban Guarantee Corporation (HUG) Jeonse Damage Support Center (in-person and phone) and its branches (in-person).
