The slogan of this video is ‘Kooking[K+cooking] Korea,’ where Hwang Hee-chan appears to share his memories of ‘Tteokbokki’ and cooks it himself.
The promotional video was produced focusing on promoting not only Korean food culture but also regional tourism related to ingredients, such as Sunchang (gochujang) and Busan (fish cake), by utilizing Tteokbokki, which CNN selected last year as Korea’s representative street food.
The organization opened a ‘Food Tourism Special Pavilion’ within the ‘Integrated Korean Tourism Marketing Platform VISITKOREA’ and is conducting an online event for foreigners from the 15th to December 6th in connection with this promotional video. Participants who upload videos of cooking and tasting Tteokbokki on their personal Instagram with hashtags (#Tteokbokki, #KFOOD, etc.) will be entered into a draw to win prizes such as airline tickets to Korea.
