On the 15th at 10 a.m., Busan City will sign a business agreement with Busan Bank (President Bang Seong-bin) at the City Hall International Protocol Room to promote English-friendly financial services as part of creating a "City Comfortable for Speaking English, Busan."
This agreement was prepared to foster mutual cooperation between Busan City and Busan Bank to improve the living environment for foreigners through the activation of English-friendly financial services and to establish a "City Comfortable for Speaking English."
At the signing ceremony, Lee Seong-gwon, Vice Mayor of Economy, and Bang Seong-bin, President of Busan Bank, representing the respective organizations, are scheduled to sign the business agreement in person.
Once the agreement is signed, ▲ Busan City will provide promotional and administrative support for financial services, and ▲ Busan Bank will offer financial services by designating English-friendly branches and installing priority counters for foreigners.
Busan Bank plans to pilot three branches as English-friendly branches: ▲ Head Office Sales Department (Munhyeon-dong), ▲ Haeundae Financial Center (Jung-dong), and ▲ Gwang-an Financial Center (Gwang-an-dong), providing English-friendly financial services to foreigners in Busan.
English-friendly branches will have priority counters for foreigners, and Busan Bank will select and assign English-proficient staff to provide services in English, enabling foreigners to conveniently use financial services.
English-friendly financial services are expected to be provided starting January next year after a preparation period, including counter arrangement and selection of English-proficient staff.
In particular, by offering face-to-face financial services in English for frequently used daily financial tasks such as deposits and withdrawals, foreign exchange, and cards, it is expected that the satisfaction of foreigners who are not proficient in Korean will increase.
In the future, there are plans to expand English-friendly branches targeting university areas with many foreign students and regions densely populated by foreign workers.
