Zaigle Strengthens Secondary Battery Technology Workforce... "Upgrading Korean LFP Technology"
Zaigle announced on the 15th that it has expanded and reorganized its business organization from the existing business unit to a business headquarters centered on the CTO (Chief Technology Officer) to efficiently promote its secondary battery business.
With this reorganization, Zaigle is expected to operate under a two-headquarters system consisting of the Secondary Battery Business Headquarters and the Healthcare Business Headquarters. While the existing business sector experienced some contraction and a decline in sales as the company focused all its efforts on the secondary battery business recently, the dual structure of the business headquarters will maintain functional independence for each sector, enabling mutual growth.
The Secondary Battery Business Headquarters has been preparing extensively ahead of full-scale business development. After acquiring pure domestic LFP battery manufacturing research technology at the end of last year, it has continuously improved mass production-related technologies. Zaigle also recruited CTO Kim Young-dae, who has over 35 years of experience in secondary battery production and quality control at LG Electronics and LG Energy Solution, and who led the successful operation of overseas factories.
Under the leadership of CTO Kim Young-dae, who possesses abundant experience and outstanding insight, Zaigle is accelerating efforts to secure core technologies and personnel necessary for production and quality control, which are key to large-scale mass production. Zaigle is also actively participating in the cell manufacturing plant project planned by its U.S. subsidiary, Zaicell, to which it contributed in kind.
The Healthcare Business Headquarters plans to strengthen marketing centered on the pain management medical device newly launched in May. The company will change its nationwide manager system, which it independently recruited across 143 locations, into a professional master system and will actively conduct free trial marketing mainly through home shopping with masters organized nationwide to widely promote the efficacy of medical home appliances and revitalize sales.
Meanwhile, Zaigle withdrew its rights offering on the 14th. The company stated, “There is no shortage of operating funds, no urgent reason to repay the loan for the Pyeongtaek plant, and we will not proceed with investment attraction by forcibly conducting repricing reflecting the recently lowered stock price.”
Although the rights offering was withdrawn, the investment in shares of the U.S. Zaicell has been completed. The company explained, “Various contracts related to business progress between Zaigle’s Secondary Battery Business Headquarters and U.S. Zaicell are expected to proceed within a few months, and the former head of Zaigle’s secondary battery business unit will serve as an executive of U.S. Zaicell.”
