The two players, along with Hwang Yu-min, Lee Da-yeon, and Lee So-young, will participate in the Simone Asia-Pacific Cup held over three days from the 21st at the Pondok Indah Golf Course in Jakarta, Indonesia. This is the second edition following last year. A total of 58 players from 16 countries including Korea, Thailand, Japan, Taiwan, and the Philippines will compete. Korea is placing its hopes on Hwang Yu-min, who participated in this tournament last year. She is the second-ranked rookie in points this year, having won the Daewoo Winia·MBN Women’s Open on the KLPGA Tour. Hwang Yu-min said, "When I participated for the first time last year, I felt the course was very difficult. I had a strong desire to perform well if I could participate again." She added, "I am honored to have this opportunity again, and as this is my second challenge, I will try to achieve good results." Joining them are Korea Golf Association (KGA) amateur rankings No. 1 Lee Hyo-song and No. 2 Kim Min-sol.
Thailand, which has recently emerged as a golf powerhouse, is a strong favorite to win. World No. 1 Atthaya Thitikul, Jaravee Boonchant, and Shanee Warner, winner of this year’s LPGA Tour Portland Classic, will compete. Japan has entered Nasa Hataoka, who has won six times each on the Japan Ladies Professional Golf Association (JLPGA) Tour and the LPGA Tour.
