Park Gang-su, Mayor of Mapo-gu, Encourages Participants of Tojeong Writing Contest and Tojeong Song Festival
Park Gang-su, Mayor of Mapo District, visited the Mapo Art Center on the afternoon of the 14th, where the 11th Tojeong Writing Contest and the 8th Tojeong Song Festival were held.
Organized by the Tojeong Memorial Project Association, this event was held to honor the spirit of Tojeong Lee Ji-ham. About 100 people, including artists and spectators, attended. The writing contest took place in the morning, followed by the song festival in the afternoon.

In his congratulatory speech, Mayor Park Gang-su said, “Tojeong Lee Ji-ham is a representative figure of our district who lived a frugal life while helping the poor.” He added, “Inheriting his integrity and warmth, Mapo District will do its best to implement policies for the underprivileged.” He further expressed hope that the Tojeong Writing Contest and Song Festival would develop into Mapo’s representative cultural festivals that promote Tojeong Lee Ji-ham more widely.
