Honam University Holds 2023 Overseas Beauty Academy Opening Ceremony Showcasing 'K-Beauty'
The Department of Beauty and Cosmetology at Honam University announced on the 14th that it held the '2023 Overseas Beauty Academy Opening Ceremony' on the 13th at the university's International Conference Room, with 50 Vietnamese beauty industry workers in attendance, and commenced a 4-night, 5-day program.
The '2023 Overseas Beauty Academy Project' is a program hosted by Gwangju Metropolitan City and operated by the Department of Beauty and Cosmetology at Honam University. It is conducted over 4 nights and 5 days for 50 Vietnamese beauty workers, divided into three areas: beauty education, experience at excellent beauty companies, and cultural tourism.
The opening ceremony included a welcome speech by Jeon Hyun-jin, head of the Department of Beauty and Cosmetology at Honam University, a congratulatory address by Park Sang-chul, president of Honam University, an award ceremony and gift presentation from Vietnam Huetac University, a presentation of support supplies for the Vietnam L'Or?al Beauty Academy project, an industry-academia cooperation MOU signing ceremony between Vietnam L'Or?al and Honam University, and a proclamation ceremony for the Overseas Beauty Academy opening.
Notably, during this opening ceremony, an MOU agreement was signed with Vietnam L'Or?al to promote mutual cooperation, including ▲exchange of research collaboration and utilization plans for human and material resources ▲field training for Honam University students ▲job training for students, which will be actively pursued.
Through this project, the Department of Beauty and Cosmetology at Honam University plans to widely promote and provide the excellence of Gwangju's 'K-Beauty' infrastructure and outstanding human resources, contributing to the continuous and stable operation of beauty tourism programs and the creation of stay-type tourism items. It also aims to enhance the image of the city as a 'safe and desirable place to revisit' for overseas education participants and expand tourism demand potential.

Jeon Hyun-jin, head of the Department of Beauty and Cosmetology at Honam University, said, "It is meaningful to open the 2023 Overseas Beauty Academy project at the Department of Beauty and Cosmetology at Honam University." He added, "Through the MOU signed this time between Vietnam Huetac University, Vietnam L'Or?al, and the Department of Beauty and Cosmetology at Honam University, we will globally expand job creation and various educational training programs for students of the Department of Beauty and Cosmetology at Honam University."
