It was designed to strengthen partners' sense of belonging and help them gain a comprehensive understanding of company operations.
Since its launch in 2021, the program has been consistently held more than twice a month, except for a temporary suspension due to the impact of COVID-19. To date, a total of 46 sessions have been held with over 1,000 partners participating.
Since his appointment, Starbucks Korea CEO Son Jeong-hyun has attended all 25 events held over the past year without missing a single one, sharing ideas, suggestions, and concerns with partners.
The most popular segment of the Discovery Program is the conversation with the CEO. This segment provides an opportunity for the CEO and attending partners to engage in open and candid discussions for over an hour. Various ideas generated during this segment have been adopted as key internal agendas, contributing to the improvement of partner job satisfaction.
The renewed Discovery Program focuses on diversifying event locations. While events were previously held mainly at the Support Center (headquarters) in Seoul, future events will be held across various regions nationwide to improve accessibility for partners working outside the capital and to add diversity to the program’s structure.
The first event of Season 2 was held over two days from the 6th to the 7th in Jeju Island with an overnight stay. During the event, CEO Son invited 30 partners who received many customer compliments from various regions nationwide and visited the newly opened Starbucks stores in Jeju, including 'Jeju Sehwa DT Store' and 'The Jeju Songdang Park R Store,' in succession over the two days.
CEO Son said, "Over the past year, I have tried to listen to as many voices from the field as possible, but there are still many partners I have not met. Therefore, we are expanding the scale with Starbucks Discovery Season 2. We will continue to make relentless efforts to listen to the voices of all 24,000 partners working at over 1,850 stores nationwide."
