Recently, as vehicle thefts have been rampant in the United States, assailants in Washington, USA, failed to steal the security vehicle protecting President Joe Biden's granddaughter.
According to foreign media including the AP on the 13th (local time), around midnight the previous day, three assailants attempted to forcibly open the door of the security team’s vehicle protecting Naomi Biden, President Biden’s granddaughter. However, security agents who discovered this fired shots to stop them.
The unmarked security sports utility vehicle (SUV) was parked and unoccupied.
In response, the Secret Service (SS) stated, "Security agents witnessed three assailants breaking the SUV window, and one agent fired a shot, but no one was hit," adding, "There was no threat to the protected individual."
The three assailants fled in a red car. The SS said it sent a bulletin to the Washington DC police to track them down.
Foreign media reported that the security agents were with Naomi, who was visiting Georgetown in Washington DC. Georgetown is a popular shopping area and affluent neighborhood considered safe within Washington DC.
