Dongjak-gu, Creation of Barefoot Loess Trails at Sangdo and Daebang Parks
Sangdo Park & Daebang Park Loess Trail Construction, Hyeonchung Park Construction Expected to Complete by the End of This Month
Dongjak-gu (Mayor Park Il-ha) has created barefoot loess trails in two major parks to promote the health of residents amid the nationwide barefoot walking (earthing) craze.
The two currently open locations are ▲ Sangdo Park (533-3 Sangdo-dong) Children's Forest Experience Center ▲ Daebang Park (520 Daebang-dong) walking trail, each measuring 80m and 90m in length respectively. Additionally, by the end of this month, ▲ Hyeonchung Park (Children's Forest Experience Center) will also be completed.
The loess trails are constructed by laying loess soil over the original ground surface, and convenience facilities such as foot washing stations and restrooms have been installed for users' comfort.
To maintain clean and pleasant loess trails, leaf cleaning is conducted twice daily, and loess soil is replenished as needed in case of erosion.
Furthermore, the district plans to add more than six barefoot loess trails linked to existing walking paths, including ▲ Dongjak Companion Dog Park and ▲ Nodeulnaru Park, by the first half of next year. The goal is to enable all residents to use barefoot walking paths in neighborhood parks near their homes.
