Two High School Students Arrested for Sexually Assaulting Peer and Live Streaming on SNS
Charges Including Violation of the Sexual Violence Punishment Act
High school students who sexually assaulted their peers and even broadcasted it live on social networking services (SNS) have been arrested.
On the 13th, Yoon Ji-sook, the judge in charge of warrants at the Daejeon District Court, conducted a pre-arrest hearing (warrant review) for two high school students, including A (17), on charges of violating the Sexual Violence Punishment Act, the Child and Youth Sexual Protection Act, and assault. She then issued arrest warrants, citing "concerns about evidence destruction and flight risk."

For another participant in the crime, the arrest warrant was dismissed, with the judge stating, "Although the criminal charges are significant and serious, considering the admission of guilt and the degree of involvement."
Including these individuals, five high school students are accused of detaining and sexually assaulting a peer, B, at a motel in Jung-gu, Daejeon, in the early morning of the 14th of last month. It was revealed that they even conducted a live broadcast of the incident through SNS.
