Incheon City, Incheon Airport Corporation, and 7 Other Organizations Sign Agreement to Promote Tourism Linked to International Hub
Incheon City is joining forces with related organizations such as Incheon International Airport Corporation to promote joint marketing for revitalizing tourism in Incheon.
On the 13th, the city held the "Incheon International Hub Linked Tourism Activation Business Agreement and Strategy Presentation" at the Grand Incheon Hyatt Hotel with Incheon Airport Corporation, Incheon Port Authority, Korea Tourism Organization, Incheon Tourism Organization, Inspire IR, Paradise Segasami Co., Ltd., and KAL Hotel Network.
This agreement was established to expand the cooperation base so that travelers using Incheon’s international hub can be attracted to the Incheon area and marine tourism, in line with the recovery of the global tourism market and the increasing trend in air travel demand, and to foster Incheon as an international hub tourism city. Although 70-80% of foreigners entering Korea this year use Incheon Airport, it was considered that they have not been sufficiently linked to tourism in Incheon.
The eight organizations designated five key cooperation areas: product development, transportation linkage, strategic exchange, joint marketing, and promotion, and agreed to form a related working-level consultative body to promote detailed cooperative projects.
They plan to develop themed transit tourism products that highlight Incheon’s unique charms such as its history as an open port, islands, and international city, and to activate new concept transit tourism programs linking air travel and marine tourism. Additionally, they will enhance tourist convenience by connecting dispersed transportation resources such as shuttle buses between Incheon Airport and nearby resorts, and the Incheon city tour buses.
Along with this, they plan to open the "Incheon Airport Transit Tour & Incheon Tourism Promotion Center" on the expanded site of Incheon Airport’s Terminal 2, scheduled for completion in the second half of next year, and to attract tourism to Incheon through joint overseas marketing both online and offline.
