Professor Lee Hyun-seop of Dong-A University Receives Commendation from Minister of Trade, Industry and Energy
Professor Lee Hyun-seop of the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Dong-A University received a commendation from the Minister of Trade, Industry and Energy.
At the ‘2023 Machine Day Ceremony’ held at the JW Marriott Hotel in Seoul, Professor Lee was awarded a certificate of commendation for contributing to the development of the machinery industry through industry-academia-research cooperation in domestic polishing technology.
‘Machine Day’ was established in 2002 to find ways to develop the machinery industry and to enhance the pride of machinery industry workers, and this year marks its 22nd anniversary.
Professor Lee said, “I am pleased to receive this meaningful award,” adding, “I will continue to contribute to the development of domestic polishing technology through ongoing industry-academia-research exchanges.”
Since joining Dong-A University in 2021, Professor Lee has been conducting research in the fields of semiconductor chemical mechanical planarization (CMP) and tribology, and has served as the senior editor of the Journal of the Korean Tribology Society.
He is actively engaged in academic activities in related fields as the vice president of the Production and Design Engineering Division of the Korean Society of Mechanical Engineers and the vice president of the Precision Machining Division of the Korean Society for Precision Engineering.

He has also received the Seokhyun Academic Award from the Korean Tribology Society in 2023, the Excellent Science and Technology Paper Award from the Korea Federation of Science and Technology Societies in 2019, the Academic Award from the Korean Tribology Society in 2017, and the Baekam Paper Award from the Korean Society of Mechanical Engineers in 2011.
