Six Chinese Tycoons Kidnapped Last Month
Connection Between Bodies and Kidnapping Not Confirmed
Last month, an incident occurred in the Manila area of the Philippines where six Chinese nationals were kidnapped by armed assailants. This month, local police have consecutively discovered six bodies, two of which have been tentatively identified as Chinese.
According to China’s Hongxing News on the 12th, in the early hours of the 30th of last month, six armed assailants kidnapped nine people inside a luxury villa area in Manila, Philippines. Subsequently, three Filipinos were released, but the six Chinese abductees were not freed.
Meanwhile, the Philippine police recently found six bodies.
The media reported that local police discovered two bodies?a man and a woman?with their hands cuffed behind their backs at a construction site in Laguna Province the day before. The police explained that based on facial features, they initially judged the victims to be Chinese.
Earlier, a total of four unidentified bodies were found in surrounding areas on the 1st and 6th of this month, all located near highways.
However, the Philippine police stated that it is currently unclear whether the six bodies found consecutively are related to the kidnapping incident on the 30th of last month.
The kidnapped individuals are reported to be the family of Mr. Zeng (曾) from Jinjiang City, Quanzhou, Fujian Province, China. Mr. Zeng, in his 40s, is known to have been running a business in the Philippines for several years with his wife. The abductees reportedly include Mr. and Mrs. Zeng, his elder brother and his wife, their 12-year-old son, and one unidentified person, according to the media.
The three Filipinos who were released are said to be local employees hired at the Zeng family’s residence. One of these employees testified to the police that six armed assailants broke into Mr. Zeng’s house around 4 a.m. on the 30th, blindfolded those inside, put them into a vehicle, and left toward the Marina area, releasing the three Filipinos midway.
Meanwhile, at around 2 a.m. on the 11th, a two-person robbery occurred in Angeles City where a 56-year-old Korean man was stabbed in the abdomen with a weapon and had his wallet stolen. The victim was seriously injured, taken to the hospital, underwent suturing surgery, and is currently receiving treatment.
