Lee Jae-myung "Talent Meeting the Public's Expectations"... Democratic Party Launches Public Recommendation System
Democratic Party Talent Committee Recruits Talent Through 'National Recommendation System'
Lee: "Talents to Overcome Economic and Livelihood Crises Together"
Lee Jae-myung, leader of the Democratic Party of Korea, announced that he will accept public recommendations to recruit talented individuals ahead of next year's general election.
On the morning of the 13th, at the Supreme Council meeting held at the National Assembly, Lee said, "If the public directly recommends or volunteers talented individuals they want, we will discover excellent talents that meet the public's expectations," adding, "We will uphold the will of the people who expect new politics." Earlier, on the 8th, the Democratic Party formed a Talent Committee chaired by Lee, and on this day, appointed Assemblyman Kim Seong-hwan as the secretary.

Lee added, "I look forward to recommendations and volunteering of many talented individuals who will work together on great tasks such as overcoming the economic crisis, overcoming the livelihood crisis, stabilizing the unstable situation on the Korean Peninsula, and pioneering the future through integration despite the people being torn apart."
The Talent Committee will launch the 'Public Talent Recommendation System' from today, allowing the public to directly recommend the talents they want. A Talent Committee official explained, "The Public Talent Recommendation System is designed to broadly expand the pool of recommended talents to all citizens regardless of age, gender, or experience, from ordinary citizens to experts," adding, "It was established to discover more fresh and capable talents across all sectors of our society."
Talent recommendations can be made through the Democratic Party's website, email, mail, or fax. The recommendation process involves entering the recommended field, the recommended person (the talent being recommended), the reason for recommendation, and the recommender through the chosen submission channel. Self-recommendation is also possible. The recommended candidates will undergo one to two rounds of verification, and once confirmed as recruited talents, they will officially begin activities under the Democratic Party through a 'Talent Recruitment Ceremony.'

Kim Seong-hwan, secretary of the Talent Committee, told reporters immediately after the Supreme Council meeting, "The Talent Committee will widely receive and carefully select capable talents directly recommended by the public from the public's perspective," adding, "This is the first step to enable these talents to appropriately participate as regional or proportional candidates in this general election or in other capacities."
In response to a question about concerns that recommendations might be biased toward certain tendencies since it is a public recommendation system, Secretary Kim said, "We will rigorously select based on actual experience and what activities they can perform once in the National Assembly," emphasizing, "This is not a recommendation system that is influenced solely by our party's ardent members."
He further explained, "We have subdivided into 12 fields such as economy and industry, science and technology, livelihood, judicial reform, and labor to receive recommendations for suitable candidates," adding, "We will carefully select candidates by field considering not only their philosophy and values toward the party, their various visions, and storytelling that was largely considered four years ago, but also their legislative capabilities after entering the National Assembly."

Meanwhile, the Talent Committee plans to promote talent recruitment at the party's practical level separately from the 'Public Recommendation System.' There is no fixed ratio between talents selected through public recommendations and those directly discovered by the party, and the plan is to allow combined evaluation of both groups.
