Changwon Special City Volunteers Kim Byung-hyun, Park Young-soon, and Bae Suk-ja Receive 'Korea Sharing National Award'
Volunteer leaders Kim Byung-hyun, Park Young-soon, and Bae Suk-ja from Changwon Special City, Gyeongnam, received the Presidential Citation and the Minister of Health and Welfare Citation in the Human Sharing category at the ‘2023 Korea Sharing National Awards’ held at the KBS New Building Public Hall for their dedicated volunteer work and contribution to spreading a culture of sharing.
The ‘2023 Korea Sharing National Awards’ is an event jointly hosted by the Ministry of Health and Welfare, KBS, and the Community Chest of Korea to discover and honor individuals and organizations who have consistently practiced sharing and helping their neighbors.
At the Korea Sharing National Awards held on the 9th, three volunteers affiliated with Changwon City received the Presidential and Minister of Health and Welfare citations, serving as role models for volunteers in the local community.
Kim, chairman of the Changwon Hospice Volunteer Association, who received the Presidential Citation, has actively led the practice of love for humanity and life as a hospice specialist volunteer for terminal cancer patients and their families for the past 33 years. He has also made significant contributions to community service and development as the vice chairman of the Changwon City Volunteer Organizations Council.
Park, chairman of the Masan Branch of the Women’s Center Volunteer Association, who received the Minister of Health and Welfare Citation, began volunteering in 1999 and has become a model volunteer through activities such as sharing side dishes, meal service, and environmental cleanup.
Bae, chairman of the Chungmu-dong Volunteer Association in Jinhae-gu, has earned recognition for his exemplary participation in various volunteer activities for the underprivileged in the community, including bathing services and side dish support, over the past 22 years.
