KOTRA Holds Job Fair to Support Employment in Japan
85 Japanese Companies Participate and Conduct Interviews
KOTRA is hosting the '2023 Japan Online Job Fair Autumn' for three days starting from the 14th to support young people who wish to work in Japan.
This job fair consists of online interviews and company presentations, as well as offline mentoring events. A total of 85 Japanese companies, including Daiko, Teraoka Seiko, and Nitori, will participate, conducting interviews for 131 job positions. Approximately 235 job seekers in Korea and Korean job seekers and students residing in Japan will undergo over 1,000 document screenings before the interviews.
The employment mentoring event is aimed at early-career workers and job seekers who are considering career development and settling in Japan. Mentors from various fields will share diverse workplace tips such as ▲work experiences of seniors employed in Japan ▲know-how for N-jobs ▲how to increase salary when changing jobs.
Kim Samsik, head of KOTRA's Japan regional office, said, "With Japan's economic growth approaching a nominal GDP of 600 trillion yen, the demand for talent recruitment is increasing. We hope that through this job fair, our youth will gain employment opportunities in Japan, develop their careers on the global stage, and further contribute to human exchange and economic cooperation between the two countries."
Recently, the Japanese job market has been active. According to the Nihon Keizai Shimbun, the employment rate of local university graduates this year is 97.3%, recovering to pre-COVID-19 levels. The ratio of job openings to job seekers for university graduates in spring next year is expected to rise for the second consecutive year to 1.71 times.
