Professor Kim Seok-jin of Samsung Seoul Hospital Elected as the 16th President of the Korean Society of Hematology
Samsung Medical Center announced on the 10th that Professor Kim Seok-jin of the Department of Hematology and Oncology has been elected as the 16th President of the Korean Society of Hematology. The term of office is two years, from July 2024 to June 2026.
The Korean Society of Hematology was established in 1958 and includes medical professionals from clinical departments such as internal medicine, pediatrics, laboratory medicine, and pathology, as well as basic sciences like immunology and physiology. Currently, about 1,500 members are active. The society holds the International Congress on Korean Society of Hematology (ICKSH) annually and operates 12 research groups, including the Lymphoma Research Group, Multiple Myeloma Research Group, and Acute Myeloid Leukemia Research Group.
President-elect Kim Seok-jin stated, "I will strive to develop the Korean Society of Hematology into a leading society in global hematology research."

President-elect Kim is currently working at Samsung Medical Center’s Department of Hematology and Oncology, responsible for treating lymphoma and multiple myeloma, including CAR T-cell therapy. He is also serving as the Secretary-General of the Korean Society of Hematology and the Chair of the Lymphoma Research Group.
