Hotel Lotte Signs MOU with Asan Medical Center to Promote Medical Tourism
Hotel Lotte announced on the 10th that it has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Seoul Asan Medical Center to promote the international medical tourism industry.

The signing ceremony held on the 9th at Signiel Seoul was attended by Kim Tae-hong, CEO of Hotel Lotte Co., Ltd., Park Seung-il, Director of Seoul Asan Medical Center, Kim Sang-min, Head of Domestic Hotels at Lotte Hotels & Resorts, Park Soo-sung, Director of Planning and Coordination at Seoul Asan Medical Center, and other officials.
The main contents of the agreement include joint development and mutual cooperation of medical tourism products, joint promotion of the excellence of Korean medical technology and activation of medical tourism, and planning health lectures for foreign visitors to Korea.
Hotel Lotte plans to strengthen the international medical tourism business together with Seoul Asan Medical Center in response to the increasing number of foreign patients visiting Korea and the growing demand for medical tourism. According to the Ministry of Health and Welfare, the number of foreign patients who visited Korea last year was 248,000, an increase of about 70% compared to 2021, and it is expected to increase further after the endemic phase.
Hotel Lotte plans to carry out various medical tourism marketing activities ranging from customized care services for overseas patients to package products that allow convenient one-stop use of shopping, tourism, and medical treatment with their families.
Kim Tae-hong, CEO of Hotel Lotte, said, “Through this agreement ceremony, Lotte Hotel and Seoul Asan Medical Center, the top hospital in Korea, will join hands to present differentiated medical tourism services,” adding, “We will continue to contribute more to attracting foreign tourists as well as the development of Korea’s medical tourism industry.”

Seoul Asan Medical Center treats about 20,000 foreign patients annually from over 100 countries worldwide, including the United States, the United Arab Emirates, and Mongolia, and has transferred the latest medical technologies to more than 3,700 overseas medical professionals from about 90 countries over the past 10 years. Recognized for its world-class medical standards, it was ranked 29th in the world and first in Korea for five consecutive years in the ‘2023 World’s Best Hospitals’ evaluation conducted by U.S. Newsweek.
