Samsung Electronics, First Supply of 'Net Zero Home' Solution for Swedish Smart City
Collaboration with Global Partners like SMA and ABB
Sequential Supply of Samsung Home Appliances to 2,000 Smart City Units
"Samsung Home Appliances' First Step into Sweden's Net Zero Home Business"
Samsung Electronics announced on the 10th that it will supply the 'Net Zero Home' solution to the Brobyholm Smartcity being built near Stockholm, Sweden. Brobyholm Smartcity is a project by the local real estate developer S Property Group to construct a new smart city with 2,000 households within commuting distance of Stockholm.
Samsung Electronics is collaborating with German solar technology, storage, and charging company SMA Solar Technology and Swiss automation solutions specialist ABB to build the Net Zero Home. The smart city produces electricity through SMA's solar power generation system and efficiently manages the generated power using an energy storage system (ESS).

Samsung Electronics supplies smart home appliances such as refrigerators, ovens, dishwashers, washing machines, and dryers. ABB installs blinds and switches. The electricity used inside the home, as well as home appliances and smart home devices, are controlled through Samsung Electronics' integrated connectivity platform SmartThings. By utilizing SmartThings Energy, energy production and consumption can be monitored. In particular, using the artificial intelligence (AI) saving mode helps appliances connected to the app automatically reduce energy consumption.
Before the actual sales, Samsung Electronics and its partners opened a model house on the 9th (local time) so that consumers can experience the Net Zero Home firsthand. This smart city is scheduled to begin occupancy with about 500 households in 2025 and will be gradually sold until 2028.
