Through performance reports on all projects and case presentations by the participating farms, all farmers attending the event shared new technology information together.
In particular, due to recent abnormal weather patterns, there have been difficulties in stabilizing the quality of agricultural products, and rising labor costs and increased material costs such as rebar are adding burdens to farm management expenses.
Accordingly, the Gochang-gun Agricultural Technology Center has been promoting pilot projects in cooperation with the Jeonbuk Agricultural Research and Extension Services to reduce labor requirements.
By utilizing biochar and natural enemies, they have seen significant effects in pest and disease control, reducing pesticide use, cutting management costs, and lowering greenhouse gas emissions.
Hyun Haeng-yeol, director of the Gochang-gun Agricultural Technology Center, said, “Through this pilot project evaluation meeting, we were able to listen to various opinions from the target farms,” and added, “We will continue to devote all our efforts to spreading new agricultural technologies and increasing farm income.”
