Gyeonggi-do Expands Eligibility for Advisory Applications on Multi-family Housing Management Support
Gyeonggi Province is expanding the eligibility for applying to the "Gyeonggi Province Apartment Management Support Advisory Group," which it operates to resolve questions about apartment management and prevent potential disputes in advance, from the existing resident representative meetings to include management offices and other management entities.
The Gyeonggi Province Apartment Management Support Advisory Group is a private expert group composed of 50 professionals from six fields, including lawyers, accountants, and labor consultants. It provides free on-site advisory services covering various specialized areas such as administrative management, accounting management, long-term repair, and safety management to 4,284 apartment complexes subject to mandatory management.
The main advisory topics include ▲amendments to management regulations ▲contract administration ▲methods of managing funds and accounts (ledgers) ▲income and processing of management fees ▲establishment of long-term repair plans ▲accumulation of long-term repair reserves ▲safety management plans for facilities ▲employee hiring procedures, and more.
However, since the advisory application was previously limited to resident representative meetings or residents numbering ten or more, management entities such as management offices had to request the resident representative meetings to apply for advisory services, causing inconvenience.
Accordingly, Gyeonggi Province temporarily expanded the application eligibility to include management entities from July to September to identify potential issues that might arise when management entities entrusted with apartment management apply for advisory services.
As a result, the number of applications increased 2.7 times compared to before the expansion, and residents who participated in the advisory services responded positively to the expanded eligibility, according to Gyeonggi Province.
Considering these factors, Gyeonggi Province has decided to include management entities as eligible applicants and continue operating the Gyeonggi Province Apartment Management Support Advisory Group from next year.
Park Jong-geun, head of the Apartment Management Division of Gyeonggi Province, stated, "We continuously support expert advice as a preventive measure for apartment management to ensure transparent and efficient management. From next year, by institutionalizing this system and expanding eligibility to management entities, we will support prompt and proactive handling of diverse management tasks occurring in each complex."
