2023 Baekseok Literary Award, Poet Song Jin-kwon’s "Time to Learn Perspective"
Changbi announced on the 6th that poet Song Jin-kwon’s work "The Time to Learn Perspective" has been selected for the 25th Baekseok Literary Award. The prize money is 20 million won.
Born in Okcheon, Chungbuk, poet Song began his literary career in 2004 by winning the Changbi New Poet Award. His published works include poetry collections such as "Growing Stone" and "There Lived Such a Person," as well as children’s poetry collections like "How to Draw a Bird" and "Something." He has received awards including the Park Jae-sam Literary Award, Cheon Sang-byeong Poetry Award, and Goyang Haengju Literary Award.

The judging panel commented, "The poet questions what ‘modernity’ truly means, pulling poetry out of the realm of abstract ideas and bringing it into the places where people live." They added, "The skillful use of adjectives and adverbs creates sensory images that give the poems a remarkable ‘umami’ flavor, breathing life into them."
