Gwangju National Science Museum Achieves Award at ISSM Presentation Competition
The National Gwangju Science Museum has been recognized for its achievements through visitor-centered project implementation.
On the 6th, the Gwangju Science Museum staff announced that they achieved excellent results, including receiving the Minister of Science and ICT Award, at the ‘2023 International Science Museum Symposium (ISSM) Presentation Contest’ held at the National Science Museum on the 3rd.
Now in its 13th year, the International Science Museum Symposium is a platform for identifying key issues in science museums and for science museum experts from around the world to gather and exchange ideas to find solutions.
The main event of the symposium is the presentation contest where science museum experts present their research achievements, drawing attention every year with vivid discussions on the latest science issues focused on the field.
At this presentation contest, Researcher Yoon Eunji from the External Cooperation and Public Relations Office received the Minister of Science and ICT Award for ‘Communication Marketing Strategy Case of the National Gwangju Science Museum for Realizing Customer Satisfaction,’ focusing on the achievements and implications of the science museum promotion communication program with the public.
Goh Hyerin, Chief of the Creative Convergence Education Office, received the Minister of Science and ICT Award for her presentation titled ‘Science Investigation Education Using Immersive Experience Spaces,’ which dealt with ways to enhance educational effectiveness in operating the popular themed science class ‘CSI Science Investigation Team.’

Senior Administrator Lee Gyu-jong of the Science Culture Expansion Office experienced the joy of receiving the Director of the National Gwacheon Science Museum Award for his presentation ‘Development and Exhibition Composition of Exhibits Based on Artificial Intelligence: Artificial Intelligence Hall,’ which covered the challenges and achievements in planning and producing exhibits for the Artificial Intelligence Hall opened in April this year.
