Jindo-gun Successfully Completes '2023 Disaster Response Safety Korea Training'
Complex Disaster Response Drill, Over 200 Participants from 12 Organizations and Groups
Jindo County in Jeollanam-do successfully completed the '2023 Disaster Response Safe Korea Training' based on actual disaster scenarios at the Jindo County Intangible Cultural Heritage Transmission Center on the 2nd.
According to the county on the 3rd, this training was conducted assuming a disaster situation where a large fire breaks out, part of a building collapses, and multiple casualties occur.
On the day, more than 200 participants from 12 organizations, groups, and residents, including Jindo County, Jindo Police Station, Jindo Fire Station, Jindo Korean Hospital, volunteer fire brigades, and safety security officers, took part.

At the disaster training site, starting with reports of fire and building collapse, initial response, fire suppression and rescue activities, and emergency recovery were carried out. Using the disaster safety communication network and monitors, the training was conducted as a real-time, realistic integrated linkage exercise with the Disaster Safety Countermeasures Headquarters, with civil, government, military, and police cooperating to carry out the disaster response process.
Jindo County operated an integrated support headquarters and emergency medical stations at the training site, and Jindo Fire Station activated the emergency rescue control team, focusing on improving collaborative crisis response capabilities. More than 10 pieces of equipment, including fire suppression pump trucks, were mobilized to create a tense atmosphere like an actual situation.
County Governor Kim Hee-su said, “Joint response training that simulates real situations is necessary to prepare for various and complex disasters that can occur anytime and anywhere,” adding, “We will continue to make every effort to safely protect the lives and property of residents by establishing a cooperative system among related organizations.”
