Fine Imposed on 20s for Posting Nude Drawings of Female Characters on Blog
A man in his 20s who posted nude drawings of female characters on his blog and online platforms was sentenced to a fine.
According to the legal community on the 4th, Judge Hong Ki-chan of the Seoul Eastern District Court Criminal Division 1 sentenced A (28), who was indicted for violating the Act on Promotion of Information and Communications Network Utilization and Information Protection (distribution of obscene materials), to a fine of 2 million won.
A was tried on charges of posting nude drawings of female characters a total of 45 times from April 11 to July 31, 2018. A claimed that the drawings did not constitute obscene materials and that some of the drawings were posted on platforms accessible only to adults, but the court did not accept this argument.

The court explained the sentencing reason, stating, “All the main characters in the drawings are female, and the breasts or lower body are depicted in an enlarged manner. The content consists of scenes where women are secretly peeped at or appear to be subjected to sadistic sexual abuse,” adding, “It can be seen as inducing sexual arousal and causing sexual shame to viewers.”
