The Yeongyang County Council of the National Unification Advisory Council participated in a relay campaign to support the attraction of a pumped-storage power plant in Yeongyang County at 8 a.m. on the 3rd in front of Beopwon Intersection, along with 30 advisory members.

View original imageWith a total project cost of 2 trillion won, a construction period of 14 years, and operation for 60 years thereafter, attracting the pumped-storage power plant is considered a sustainable project for Yeongyang's future. It is evaluated as a definite solution to regional economic revitalization through population inflow, new job creation, and securing tourism resources, as well as a clear alternative to the issue of local extinction.
On this day, the Yeongyang County Council of the National Unification Advisory Council, including Chairman Lee Dong-ho and 30 advisory members, joined the relay campaign expressing their wish to attract the Yeongyang pumped-storage power plant, lending their support to the effort.
Chairman Lee Dong-ho of the council said, “Not only for attracting the pumped-storage power plant but also for the development of Yeongyang County, the National Unification Advisory Council Yeongyang County Council will participate whenever there is something we can help with.”
