A man in his 70s working at Haman factory crushed to death by 2-ton product
A man in his 70s died after being crushed by a product at a steel structure manufacturing factory in Haman, Gyeongnam.
According to the Haman Police Station on the 3rd, Mr. A was grinding the surface inside a chemical tank component to smooth it out at around 7:30 p.m. on the 2nd when the accident occurred inside the factory.
At the time, Mr. A was flipping the product after connecting it to a crane, but the connection came loose, causing the product to fall and crush him from above.
The product was estimated to weigh about 2 tons and was suspended approximately 1.8 meters above the ground.
Mr. A was transported to the hospital after being reported by another worker but passed away during treatment.
The workplace has fewer than 50 regular employees and is therefore not subject to the Serious Accidents Punishment Act.
