National Mokpo University Library Successfully Concludes Ontact Academic Electronic Information Expo
Increase Interest and Excitement of the Event by Awarding Various Prizes
The National Mokpo University Library (President Song Ha-cheol) held the award ceremony for the ‘2023 9th Ontact Academic Electronic Information Expo’ at the Mokpo University Library on the 30th of last month.
According to Mokpo University on the 1st, following last year, this event was held as an online non-face-to-face ontact expo. A total of 15 major domestic and international electronic resource providers, including Nurimedia, Korea Academic Information, Academic Education Institute, EBSCO, Elsevier, and Clarivate, operated online booths to introduce how to utilize various and specialized electronic resources. The expo was held from the 10th to the 20th of last month for enrolled students and faculty members.

During the expo, 1,022 members of the university community participated in events such as solving electronic information search problems and watching educational videos at the online booths. Through a raffle, 168 people received various prizes including Galaxy Buds 2, iRiver earphones, and cultural gift certificates, increasing interest and excitement in the event.
Student Choi Ga-eun (1st year, Department of Law), who participated in the event, said, “When I usually have to refer to papers related to my major assignments, I was at a loss about where and how to find them, but this expo gave me confidence.” She added, “I would like to attend again if there is such an event in the future.”

Kim Sun-hwa, Director of the National Mokpo University Library, stated, “I hope this expo served as an opportunity to improve the university community’s understanding of and accessibility to electronic resources.” She added, “We will continue to strive for the library to play various roles in strengthening the university’s research capabilities.”
