BPA Employees Volunteer for Coastal Cleanup Around Gadeokdo Cheonseong Port
Busan Port Authority (BPA) conducted a coastal environmental cleanup volunteer activity on the 27th at Cheonseong Port in Gadeokdo, Gangseo-gu, Busan.
About 20 BPA employees participated in the event, collecting abandoned fishing gear near Cheonseong Port and styrofoam left on the beach.
The sacks needed for the coastal cleanup activity were provided by the Gadeokdo-dong Administrative Welfare Center of Busan City.

View original imageAs a follow-up to the memorandum of understanding signed in July 2022 to reduce marine litter along the Busan coast, Busan Port Authority has been continuously conducting coastal environmental cleanup activities together with Busan City, the Korea Marine Environment Management Corporation, the Korea Maritime Institute, and the Korea Ocean Business Corporation.
Last year, BPA employees also carried out coastal cleanup activities around Cheonseong Port, collecting about 20 sacks of various waste and trash.

Lee Sang-kwon, Head of Construction at BPA, said, “Busan Port Authority is promoting various projects to improve the Busan port environment, such as recycling PET bottles,” and added, “We will continue to make greater efforts to improve the marine environment through resource circulation and coastal cleanup activities.”
